Millions of people across Gaza, Lebanon and the wider region are in urgent need of food, shelter and medical care.

People are dying of hunger and disease, as well as injuries caused by the conflict. In Lebanon, more than a million people have fled their homes since mid-September, and emergency shelters are struggling to support all those in need.

We are proud to support the DEC appeal alongside other co-operatives, media, and corporate businesses and we’re encouraging members, colleagues and customers to donate to the DEC appeal.

As a long-term supporter of DEC, collectively Co-op Societies have helped raise over £1m for their Ukraine Appeal and have supported other DEC appeals such as the more recent Turkey Syria Earthquake and the Pakistan Floods Appeals.

How you can support

DEC member charities are responding right now in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank, providing lifesaving food, water, shelter, medicine and so much more. But they urgently need more funds to meet the huge levels of need.

DEC are the experts in humanitarian response and so are the best way we can show our support in the Middle East. They have the infrastructure, experience and personnel on the ground to make sure the funds raised, and support reaches those who need it most.

DEC charities and their local partners are working on the ground to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.

Every pound donated by the UK public will be matched by the UK government through its Aid Match scheme up to the value of £10 million. This support will double the impact of donations and will ensure that charities working on the ground can reach those in urgent need.

You can help provide food, water, shelter and healthcare by donating in the following ways:
