The Scotsman cocktail
Serves 1, Ready in 5 minutes
Golden syrup hits the sweet spot in this whisky-based favourite
Ingredients
- 50ml Co-op Irresistible single malt Scotch whisky
- 50ml sweet red vermouth
- 1 tsp golden syrup or honey
- 4 dashes of bitters
- Clementine zest, to serve
Method
- Pour 50ml Co-op Irresistible single malt Scotch whisky and 50ml sweet red vermouth into a cocktail shaker
- Add 1 tsp golden syrup or honey and stir through until dissolved. Half-fill the shaker with ice and add 4 dashes of bitters
- Shake well, until icy cold, then strain into a cocktail glass
- Twist a strip of clementine zest over the cocktail to release the oils, then curl it over the edge of the glass and serve
Make it a mocktail: Swap the whisky and vermouth for Co-op Irresistible Assam Fairtrade tea, brewed and chilled, and Co-op apple juice, and leave out the bitters
