Bonfire Bonanza Cocktail

This bonfire night cocktail is all about the spice! Made with spiced rum, dry cider and a sweet spiced garnish - it's sure to keep you warm while you watch the fireworks

Ingredients

  • 500ml Co-op Irresistible Tillington Hills British Cider (or another dry cider)
  • 200ml cloudy apple juice
  • 3 tbsp Co-op Fairtrade demerara sugar
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 25ml spiced rum
  • 50ml amaretto
  • 1 Co-op apple, sliced, and mini sparklers, to decorate (optional)

Method

  1. Put the cider and apple juice into a saucepan and heat gently until steaming, being careful not to boil
  2. Put the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg onto a plate and mix together
  3. Dip the rims of four serving glasses into the cider mixture to moisten, then press into the plate of sugar to coat
  4. Add the spiced rum and amaretto to the cider and stir
  5. Carefully ladle into the serving glasses.
  6. Thread a fan of apple slices onto the end of each sparkler, if using, and add to the glasses to serve
