Whether you're already a member of The Midcounties Co-operative, or are thinking of joining, here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
Digital Membership
Download the App
Please find below a step-by-step guide to help you log in to the new Your Co-op Membership App;
Step 1 - Download the correct App by searching for ‘Your Co-op Membership’ or ‘Midcounties’ in the app store.
The App tile looks like this;
Step 2 – If you have not used our Apps before you will need to set up a password. To do this click on ‘Register’ and follow the registration process
Step 3 – If you have previously registered on one of our previous Apps you can login with your email address and the password. Click on ‘Login’ and enter your email address and password.
Step 4 - If you do not know your password click ‘Forgot your password’. Simply complete the online instructions to receive an email to reset your password
Check my points balance
You can view your member points balance at any time within the App. The App will also display your recent transactions. See the section “Download the App”
If you would like to view a detailed transaction history for the current year and the previous year you can do so through the online member dashboard here.
Find and spend my Share of the Profits vouchers
All vouchers from the previous September 2024 payment have now expired. There are currently no live Share of the Profits vouchers to spend on the App.

Find out about where I can use my Midcounties Membership card
To simplify our Membership, we have exited the Affinity scheme. This is where our members earn points when spending in other participating Co-operative Societies, and members of other Co-ops earn points in our food, travel, childcare or utilities businesses.
This means:

From 30 January 2025 we will only accept Midcounties Co-operative membership cards in our businesses. You can find your local site operated by the Midcounties Co-op here.

Our membership cards will no longer be accepted at other Co-operative Societies.
Discounts
Register my membership to receive Student discount
We offer a 10% student discount on all purchases in our food stores*. Simply complete the form below, and we'll assist in validating your student membership to activate your discount!

Email Address Requirement: A valid .ac.uk email address is required to qualify for the student discount.
Benefit from Diamond Day over 60s discount
Take advantage of our 10% Diamond Day Discount every Tuesday, if you’re 60 or over and a member of The Midcounties Co-operative. Diamond Day discount only applies in the selected Co-op Midcounties Food stores. Please see link below for stores where the discount applies.
The discount is not automatically applied. To avoid unintentionally offending our members, we regret that we do not ask you your age at the till. If you qualify, let our colleague know when you pay for your shopping. Don’t forget to present your membership card too.

Our current member offers feature great meal deals, store cupboard essentials, freezer mix & match and much more! You'll see member discounts all around our stores. Current deals can be viewed on our App.
Simply scan your Midcounties Co-operative membership card on your App or physical card when you pay at the till to receive your savings.
My Membership Account
Order a replacement card
If you have a smartphone, you no longer need a physical card. The app provides easy access to your membership, and it’s part of our effort to reduce paper and plastic, making the world a better place.
Additionally, all Your Co-op Food stores offer free customer Wi-Fi, so whether your phone reception is good or bad, you’ll always be able to use the app in-store.

If you do not have a smart phone and need a physical card. You can order one here.
Link my membership to my utilities account
If you are on one of our three Co-op Energy tariffs, powered by octopus Energy; Fixed Tariff, Community Power, Flexible Tariff, you can link your membership to it to collect membership points annually.
To do this you need to ensure that the email address within Your Co-op Energy account matches the email address within your membership account. You can check what email address is associated to your membership by using the online member dashboard here.
Change my details on my membership record
You can easily update any details on your membership record, such as your name, address, and email address, through the online member dashboard here.
Set my online password if the verification link has expired or not been received
To set up your password for online access to your membership If you have been unable to verify the link before it expired, or you have not received your verification email, please click here to complete the digitalisation process for your membership.
Update my marketing preferences
You can manage your preferences directly within the account section of the App. See the section “Download the App”
Report the death of a member
We are truly sorry to hear about your loss. To report the death of a member, please contact our Membership team directly. You can reach us by emailing us member.communications@midcounties.coop or by calling 0800 435902
What information will I need to provide?
To help us process the report as quickly as possible, please provide the following details:

The full name of the deceased member.

The member’s membership number or Share Account number (if known).

A copy of the death certificate (optional, but may be requested for verification purposes).

Your relationship to the deceased member.
Will the member’s account be closed immediately?
Once we receive the necessary details, we will update our records accordingly to prevent an future mailings. Please not that due to data that may have already been taken for future campaigns this may take up to 30 days.
We will inform you of any actions required to close the account.
What happens to the deceased member’s membership benefits?
Depending on the membership, the share balance may be returned to the Next of Kin/Executor or donated to our charitable fund. Our team will guide you through the process.
Can I continue to use the member’s account?
The deceased member’s account will be suspended once we are notified of the passing. If you need any assistance with accessing benefits, please reach out to our membership team.
Close my membership
We are really sorry to be losing you.
There are three ways which you may proceed to close your membership with us.
App users
Select the settings cog in the top right hand corner.
Then scroll down until you see a button called “request closure of account”. Tap on this button
Or you can reach us by emailing us member.communications@midcounties.coop or by calling 0800 435902. Please ensure you provide your 18 digit membership card number when requesting closure of your membership.

Your membership and associated rights will cease.

You won't be able to reactivate your account. A new account will need to be created should you return.

You will forfeit any points and vouchers that are in your account.

You will no longer be able to use your virtual or physical membership card.

You will not be able to log into this app or membership portal.

Your share account linked to your membership will also be closed.

Your details will be retained for a period of time in line with our Privacy Policy, which you can find here.
You will be contacted by our membership team by email to confirm the closure of your account. If the share account is under £50.00 in value, you can donate the balance to charity. For balances over £50.00 we may require written instruction from you to proceed with the closure of the membership and any returning funds.
