Holidaymakers dreaming of that longed-for getaway can contact their local Co-operative Travel team and take advantage of a range of discounts and deals being offered by more than 80 big-name holiday companies, as part of a new “Holiday to Help Out” initiative.
The scheme, which will run from 2 – 8 November 2020, has been launched by travel industry magazine TTG (Travel Trade Gazette) and is being supported by Co-operative Travel, part of Midcounties Co-operative. Inspired by the success of the chancellor’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme in August, the Holiday To Help Out initiative1 aims to inspire travellers facing one of the darkest times of the year and inject vital support to Covid 19-hit travel businesses. The campaign has been designed to encourage customers to go and talk to their local travel agent about booking their dream getaway.
To support the Holiday to Help Out scheme further, Co-operative Travel shops will be offering £100 off holidays2, when the booking is to the value of £2,000 or more, from selected travel companies and booked via the branch teams during the week-long campaign. Where the holiday company is already offering a discount or deal as part of the Holiday to Help Out initiative, the Co-operative Travel discount will be applied on top.
The Co-operative Travel discount will also apply to holidays from selected travel providers who are not part of the Holiday to Help Out scheme, for example, Jet2Holidays, TUI and Classic Collection.
Unfortunately, the latest restrictions mean that from Thursday 5th November our branches will be closed. Therefore, customers should simply contact by phone or email, one of the 78 Co-operative Travel and Carrick Travel3 branches across the UK’s Midcounties, quote the holiday company name and the Holiday To Help Out offer to receive the deal or discount. The 78 branches are located across the West Midlands, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Somerset, Norfolk, Suffolk, Lincolnshire and Rutland.
The 80+ travel companies taking part in the scheme range from Celebrity Cruises and EasyJet Holidays to Olympic Holidays, Intrepid and Riviera Travel. Some of the deals and discounts available include 50 per cent off a luxury holiday to Indonesia with Elegant Resorts, a £60 per person discount on package holidays with Olympic Holidays, two weeks for the price of one on holidays to Greece with Sunvil, and US$100 onboard spend with every stateroom booking with Celebrity Cruises. The special offers are only available to customers booking them through a travel agent, such as Co-operative Travel.
Natalie Turner, Head of Branches for Co-operative Travel said: “We’re delighted to be supporting TTG’s Holiday to Help Out initiative to give the holiday industry a much-needed boost.
As the winter blues set in, particularly after the year of turmoil we continue to have, everyone needs something to look forward to and we believe booking a holiday is the perfect fix. In light of the latest restrictions, branches will close temporarily on Wednesday 4th November until further notice, however, our expert teams will still be on hand by phone or email help them book a bargain getaway as part of this exciting new scheme.
With the current uncertainty around travel restrictions and ever-changing quarantine regulations, it’s never been more important for holidaymakers to book with an experienced and trusted travel agent.
Our Travel Advisors are primed and ready to navigate their customers through the complexities of the current travel booking process and help them book the discounted holiday of their dreams.”
