A brand-new purpose-built nursery and pre-school has opened in Emersons Green last week, marked with a cutting of the ribbon ceremony, on Thursday 6th January.
The brand new Your Coop Little Pioneers Bristol Emersons Green nursery, located on Fieldfare just off Folly Brook Road, has undergone an £800k investment by owners, The Midcounties Co-operative, and offers up to 100 spaces for local children aged from three months to five years.
Its mission is to provide high-quality teaching with a holistic, child-centric approach to education, helping every child to become their best selves whilst also learning about the communities and world they live in.
Each child and family at the new Bristol nursery will have an allocated key worker who will listen and work with them in partnership to make sure they’re getting the best from nursery life, from updates on their child’s progress to advice on toilet training, food, friendships, sleeping patterns and more.
The nursery has three separate rooms with a tailored environment for each age group to support their learning and development, while ensuring they have fun at the same time. It also offers on-site parking, a large garden for outdoor play, and a designated parents’ room where parents will be able to catch up with their allocated key worker, access free WiFi and coffee for working, or simply relax. Nursery fees also include all nappies, wipes, and nutritious snacks, plus meals throughout the day.
As well as being strongly recommended by parents on website Day Nurseries with a score of 9.8, and holding the Millie’s Mark accreditation, all Your Coop Little Pioneers nurseries are rated 100% outstanding or good by Ofsted, and also have Eco-Schools Silver status as a minimum, which recognises their efforts to empower children to understand and take responsibility for their environmental impact. The nursery team at Bristol Emersons Green will seek to also secure these accolades quickly.
Sally Bonnar, chief operating officer for the Childcare Group at The Midcounties Co-operative, said: “We are so proud of our new nursery in Bristol Emersons Green. It looks great and will provide an amazing environment where our children can grow and develop with the support of our excellent nursery team. We’ve had an overwhelming amount of interest and have new families starting with us every day.
Our nursery team have been carefully selected and trained so they quickly feel like part of the extended family with parent priorities and children’s happiness front of mind. We’re looking forward to welcoming all of our little pioneers as they begin or continue their education and development journey.
The Bristol Emersons Green nursery opening forms part of our ambitious five-year growth plan that will see us bring our Little Pioneers brand to so many more communities across the country. Our investment is significant, but the value of quality childcare has really proven its worth over the past two years or so and we’re committed to ensuring we continue to deliver that in all of our existing nurseries, as well as the new sites we’re opening over the next five years.”
The Midcounties Co-operative, which owns Your Co-op Little Pioneers nurseries nationwide, is one of the UK’s largest independent co-operatives. Parents at the new nursery can become a member of The Midcounties Co-operative, giving them a say in how it is run and access to exclusive deals as well as special offers from across its Your Co-op group of businesses.
