Two New Your Co-op Food Stores To Open in Wokingham Following a £1.1 Million Investment

The Midcounties Co-operative is set to open two brand-new Your Co-op Food stores in Wokingham following a total investment of over £1.1 million.

The Matthews Green store is the first to open today (Thursday 24^th February) at Paley Court creating 20 new jobs for the area.

This will be followed by the Montague Park store on Beechy Place, which will be opening on Thursday 3^rd March and will see a further 20 new jobs for the community.

Both stores will offer an in-store bakery and a chilled food-to-go range, as well as essential grocery items, from fruit and vegetables and fresh meat to a range of wines, spirits and chilled beers.

The stores will also have National Lottery and PayPoint terminals as well as a Hermes ParcelShop.

Your Co-op is part of The Midcounties Co-operative, which is one of the largest independent UK co-operatives and is fully owned by its members. Customers at the new store will have the option of becoming a member of the Society, giving them access to exclusive deals as well as special offers from across the Your Co-op group of businesses.

Members also have a say in how the Society is run, including the work it does to support local communities in partnership with local volunteers and community groups. Members can access all of this in the palm of their hand with the Your Co-op Membership app.

The new stores have been built with a joint investment of more than £1.1million as part of the Midcounties’ ongoing investment in food retail. The Society invested more than £3.5 million in opening seven new stores in 2021 and has committed to a further £5 million and ten new store openings this year.

The stores’ opening hours will be 7am to 10pm every day throughout the week.
