Here at The Midcounties Co-operative we want our social media profiles to be an online space which is an open, welcoming and constructive environment where you can all get involved and interact freely.
We aim to provide an engaging informative environment for fans and followers of our Society's main pages, as well as trading group subsidiary pages.
So please take a minute to read our House Rules which we have provided in order to make our social media experience enjoyable for all.
Please bear these rules in mind when you are participating in our social media channels and remember that, by participating, you are agreeing to abide to the rules laid out below.

We always do our best to respond to questions and interactions as soon as possible with the correct information. However, there may be times where there are delays - in such situations please patient as we do what we can in order to continually improve the experience that we can give you on our social media channels.

By using our social media sites you are agreeing with the rules of each platform, as well as our House Rules.

Please do not post any images or videos that you do not have permission to.

By sharing images, videos or other material on our social media channels you have effectively granted us permission for us to use your content in our marketing materials - we will contact you if we plan to do this.

Do not post spam or post adverts to external sites, blogs or other users’ profiles.

We are aware that you may not always agree with us or other participants but it is important that you treat everyone with respect and consideration.

Privacy:

If you find yourself in a situation where you need to share private details such as a phone number, account number, email address or property address please do so by using the direct message function (Twitter and Instagram) or inbox function (Facebook) to ensure we are protecting your privacy.

Do not publicly name colleagues who work for the Society that you may have corresponded with. Please discuss these details in the private message spaces outlined above.
Trolling:

We do not accept any form of trolling, deliberate disruption of a discussion or spamming.

Please be warned that if you spam us repetitively with the same points and we have made an effort to previously engage with you and address your issues, we can block you from contacting us.

This is done because your spamming deters other followers from engaging with us - this behaviour will not be tolerated.
Abuse:
The following types of comments are not allowed on our social media sites and if you post content that falls within these categories you will be removed and blocked from our social media sites:

Language/content that is abusive, harassing, threatening or attacking other users or individuals.

Language/ content that is defamatory, offensive, obscene, vulgar or depicting violence.

No inappropriate or offensive language such as swear words- this includes asterisks/ symbols replacing characters in offensive language.

Hateful language attacking race, ethnicity, religion, gender, nationality or political beliefs.

Views or language that is fraudulent, deceptive, misleading or unlawful.
Our policy on blocking and removing:

Initially, we will try to resolve an issue first with the user who violates our House Rules.

If we need to edit or delete posts we will do so in a transparent way by explaining the reasons why we have carried out certain actions and we will highlight the sections of our House Rules.

We reserve the total right to block and remove fans/followers from our social media sites for serious violations or repeat violations of our House Rules.
